China’s Geely has officially launched its new i-HEV intelligent hybrid system, marking another major step in China’s latest vehicle technology development. The new system is designed to improve fuel efficiency, intelligent energy management, and driving performance, showing how Chinese automakers are moving beyond price competition and focusing more on advanced technology.

According to Reuters, Geely said the new hybrid system uses AI to adjust performance based on real-time conditions such as temperature, humidity, and altitude. In a recent demonstration, a Geely Emgrand equipped with the system achieved a fuel consumption result of 2.22 liters per 100 kilometers, a figure reported as verified by Guinness World Records.
Geely plans to install the new i-HEV system in several models this year, including the Emgrand, Preface, Monjaro, and Starray. This latest release highlights a clear trend in China’s auto industry: new vehicle launches are no longer only about design and pricing, but also about smarter power systems, lower fuel use, and stronger global competitiveness.
The launch is also important for overseas buyers, importers, and dealers. In many global markets, especially where charging infrastructure is still developing, hybrid vehicles remain a practical solution. Geely’s new technology may help Chinese brands gain more attention in markets that want fuel-saving vehicles without fully depending on EV charging networks.
This latest development confirms that China’s auto industry continues to strengthen its position in the global market through innovation, efficiency, and faster product upgrades. For international distributors, China’s newly released vehicle technologies are creating more sourcing opportunities across both traditional fuel and hybrid segments.
